“ ... the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 Jn 1:7).
“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28).
“ ... him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (Jn. 6:37)
“... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31).
“ ... To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts” (Heb. 4:7).
“Come thou!” was God’s command to Noah to enter with his family into the ark where only he would find safety from the coming storm of judgment on that wicked world. We are either inside or outside the Ark (a type of our Lord Jesus Christ who only offers salvation and safety from God’s judgment on sin).
There is no half-way in this. Outside is death, inside is life. Outside is certain, inevitable, utter destruction. Inside is certain and complete safety. Where are you at this moment? Perhaps you dare not say confidently and happily, “I am inside “; and yet you do not like to look the alarming alterna- tive in the face, and say, “I am outside!” You prefer trying to persuade yourself that you do not exactly know, and can’t be expected to answer such a question. You say, perhaps with a shade of annoyance, “How am I to know?” God’s infallible Word tells you very plainly, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature [there is a new creation]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor. 5:17)—and—“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life ...” (1 Jn. 5:13).
